Your family’s information

Privasis helps up to five families share the school run. This page explains, in plain words, what we collect, who sees it and the choices you have.

Effective 3 October 2026.

Kids

Privasis is used by parents and guardians. Children do not create accounts. A parent adds their own children’s first names and details, and confirms that they are the child’s parent or legal guardian before anything is shared with their group. A parent can change or remove their children’s details, or delete everything, at any time.

Kid passes. A parent can choose to make a kid pass: a code or link that lets their own child see that day’s rides — the driver’s first name, the car, and where it is while a run is under way. It needs no account or email, can’t change anything, and stops working as soon as the parent turns it off or makes a new one. We record only when a pass was last opened.

Location

Privasis asks for your location only when you start driving a run, and explains this first. Your position is shared with your group while that run is in progress and is cleared when it ends. As an extra safeguard, the system never shows a position older than 30 minutes. You can turn location sharing off in Account → Privacy & data; parents then see each pick-up and drop-off but not the car moving.

Who we share with

We don’t sell or rent your information, and we don’t show ads. We use these service providers to run Privasis, only for that purpose:

We may disclose information if the law requires it.

How long we keep it

We keep your information while you have an account. Live car positions are cleared at the end of each run. When you leave a group, your upcoming runs are shared out to the other families. When you delete your account, your profile, kids’ details and group memberships are deleted.

Your choices

Security

Information is encrypted in transit. Database rules mean each family can only read its own group’s information, and only a run’s driver can update the car’s position. No system is perfectly secure, so please tell us straight away if you notice anything wrong.

Changes

If we change what is shared with your group, every parent is asked to agree again in the app before carrying on.
